Aston Martin, a high-end automobile company located in the United Kingdom, has recently teamed up with LeEco, a consumer electronics firm from China. The goal of this joint venture is to design an electric car. Andy Palmer, who heads the firm Aston Martin, told the New York Times that the two companies hope to bring the newly designed car to market during 2018.
The car itself will be designed in a manner similar to the successful Rapide S model of the Aston Martin company. The car will manufactured in Gaydon, England. If the joint venture is successful, the companies plan to develop other electric vehicles, but no detailed financial terms of this joint venture have yet been disclosed.
