The industry has a lot to learn from the industrious efficiency put into play by Starbucks. The plant demonstrates an ability to work faster and more efficiently putting out a greater amount of usable end product while also reducing waste by recycling and re-purposing it as a form of green energy. Combined these factors both raise profits and decrease costs, something that is actually quire rare to hear of.
While this process also produces more usable end product it also produces a higher quality end product. Part of this is achieved by an improved ability to separate materials more quickly so flavors are not mixed and insuring that all things are processed the correct amount. Nothing is over processed, and nothing goes through prematurely.
